“ Googling and came across this nice little place. My 1st time I tried the BLT with only coconut bacon and it was good. I have tried the deluxe burrito as well another good option. My all time fav is the tofu scramble platter topped with coconut bacon with seasoned waffle fries and a side of pancakes. Everything is sooo good. Pancakes are so soft and tasty. Everything just goes well together. I have been here multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. Thanks to both cooks; you both do a great job! I recommend this diner to anyone looking for plant based options. ”

“ Corner restaurant across from a small park, in case you want to eat outside or have a little picnic. Sweet people, Uber helpful and understanding never made any assumptions which was nice as we were new to the place. My favorite was their country biscuits that we mixed in with some sausage patties on the side. I would come back to try their other menu items. And plan to get some of the fun stigmata cookies (it's Easter Sunday) so they look fun. But not sure how my mom and family might take it, even though none are going to services. ”

“ What can I say, we come here twice a week even though we don't live in the neighborhood! I usually order either the Dirty Jersey tofu sandwich (I love the new River option with sauteed spinach and spicy mayo in addition to the vegan ham and cheese), or the omelette with various fillings. I often add a side Caeser salad with my meal which is so tasty and has homemade croutons. We usually dine in (the kitchen which is staffed with the two exceptional chef owners is super fast!) But we occasionally take out food to go, if we have to run back to our desks for work. But it's such a cute place that I prefer to eat there. The staff is all very sweet too, and excellent at serving. I don't know them by name because I'm kind of an introvert, but they always make me feel so welcome. For coffee, I vacillate between the drip coffee (the best in the city, not kidding) or an espresso based drink like a latte or cappuccino. But for the true diner experience, I love that the drip coffee is so good! ”

“ UPDATED (8/8/24): I have updated my review after this morning to a 5/5. Both times “RIVER” was taking orders at the register and she is so professional and has a wonderful, warm, and friendly persona! She really made me feel welcome there is great with sales because she got me to get another tasty donut that I wasn’t planning to get because I enjoyed it so much the last time! I also met the owners “HANNAH” and “SOFIA” briefly who were also both accommodating, friendly, and professional. I plan to bring my friends here and bring foods and treats from here to introduce them to vegan eats as well! I plan to fit this in my budget to come at least once a week so I can return ! Wonderful to see a vegan diner with such flavorful food and wonderful vibes ! ORIGINAL (8/4/24): Came on a Sunday morning around 9:30 and I had: - 2 biscuits in the Sawmill Gravy (The gravy was DELICIOUS and the biscuits not bland or too hard or too chewy. Right in between) - A side of Tater Tots (I was surprised at the LARGE PORTION of this and found I had to pack some of these and the biscuits for later. I mixed the Tater Tots in the gravy and ate it WITH the biscuits and it was SO YUMMY!) - The Hot Chocolate (Delicious and didn’t need any additional sugar added. Had lots of flavor and some type of sweetener I couldn’t put my hands on that I liked. My only complaint is that it was WARM, and not “HOT” at all! Resulting in me just drinking it like a normal drink. The restaurant was busy tho so I didn’t want to bother the staff with warming it up more for me but it kinda turned me off from ordering it again. Maybe next time I’ll say something). I also found it weird that I was asked to pay upfront because I was dining in and planning to tip but after that I just treated it like a To-Go order place where you buy your food and then can sit and eat it in there. ”

“ I have been a long time fan of the Tasty since before COVID. My vegan best friend put me on to the Deluxe Tot Bowl before it was an official menu item, and I can say with certainty that I’ve never had a bad meal from the Tasty. It’s a small team working to make delicious vegan food. The Deluxe Burrito is my go-to, but I also love the Dirty Jersey River Style. If you like breakfast sandwiches, you’ll love this! When coming to dine in it’s super important to keep in mind that the space is TINY, just like the team. This means you either get there early to snag a table before the brunch time rush, or you put your name down and wait till something opens up. If you don’t have time to wait, to-go is a great option, especially if it’s a nice day! I LOVE getting to-go and eating at the park across the street. I also am a huge fan of their coffee operation. They make all the syrups in-house, and usually have a fun flavor for the week. My favorite drink recently has been the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with Rose Syrup. It’s not on the menu, but the staff is super accommodating about customizing things (you just gotta ask kindly) and there might be an extra charge but it’s always worth it! All in all the Tasty is one of the best places in South Philly... (and probably the rest of Philly) ”

“ I can’t believe I’ve been a vegan living in Philly for almost two years and went to The Tasty for the first time today! The food was all delicious and the staff was very friendly! Went around 12 on a Sunday and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We ordered the cardamom rose chai, kale Caesar, deluxe burrito, and monte cristo. Everything was great, and we will be back soon to make up for lost time! ”
